"So don't be sad and always know we'll come back soon to say hello! ~♪"
The silveret couldn’t keep his body from shuddering at the younger’s words. Fix this…what did he know? He didn’t even know what happened to him in the first place. So how could he know if this was even fixable or not?
A soft sigh, a shake of his head. Golden eyes, giving away the sorrow he was trying so hard to bottle up, fixated with those lovely, familiar sapphire ones. As much…as much as he didn’t want to tell him…he knew that he had to. Sora had always told him anything and everything, while Riku kept his feelings hidden under his many masks. He owed him this much.
”..I really am fine, though,” He repeated softly, eyes lowering down to the ground once more. He knew he could always find forgiveness within those pools of blue..forgiveness he didn’t want, he didn’t deserve. “I screwed up again, Sora, royally.” His tone was barely above a whisper— a shaky one, at that, lowering and rising randomly, “I was never rid of my Darkness, or anything, I guess..and it still wanted me. It tortured me, constantly…it went on a few months before my heart finally gave out…I’m surprised it lasted as long as it did, really. But I don’t think any heart can last forever like that…” He sighed, crossing his arms, “And once my heart faltered, the Darkness pulled me back under. But…I’m better off like this, I think..All the pain is gone, and I’m thankful for that..”
“Riku…” the name of his friend floated calmly out of his lips. His very own smile pulled itself into a melancholic lour. Sora was not about to let Riku convince himself that there was no way out. He couldn’t– he just couldn’t. Sure, Riku might say he’s fine– but the keywielder refused to believe it. He has seen exactly what the darkness managed to do to one’s being if under it’s control for too long. And Sora was absolutely not about to let his own best friend fall into such a demise.
A tired, palled hand planted itself firmly against the ash gray’s shoulder. Riku felt very cold to the touch as expected; and it truly sadden Sora to see him like this. “Haha, c'mon man! You’re being silly!” the keywielder spoke in a soft hushed tone. “I’m positive the darkness hasn’t won complete control. There’s always a light Riku. Always– you just need to look deep down!”
